we are afraid
that we defer from the norm
that we are not part of the community at large

but we have a passion
and we go all out
to find similarities
but more often to be ostracised

everyone wants to be an individual
to be unique and special
but then when we find ourselves being that
we suddenly fear

what if he or she knows
we keep hiding our identity
till the right time comes
then we let people discover us

but there are still some
that I never know
if I should tell
how will they react
abandonment or appreciation?
